Chief Nolan Gobert
Nolan was born on May 17, 1950. He was raised in a small town called Basile, located in Louisiana next to the Bayou Nepique. Nolan is one of eight siblings, six boys and two girls. He spent most of his youth working and helping his father gather food, by hand fishing, trapping, hunting, and farming. He is gifted with the talent of music, and has the ability to play the guitar, accordion, bass, and keyboard. He was the creator and accordion player in his band N.J and Mama T, and the Creole Express Band and has produced and mixed CD’s for various artists, and enjoys helping others, spending time with family and friends.
Nolan is the Chief of the Attakapas Opelousas Prairie Tribe, and continues to educate, and strive for State and Federal Recognition
